Dr. Couch,

I had many a wonderful professor at TCU, but you stood out as someone who truly took joy in both teaching and learning. I know that retirement will not change that and I can only imagine the many new interests that you are planning to explore. I work in a busy emergency room now that seems light years away from feeding the crawfish in your lab, but I use the basic tools of constant inquiry and a desire to learn on a daily basis, ideals that you instilled in me long ago! Thanks for everything and I wish you the best!

Dr. Couch,

You are an inspiration to many and helped shaped numerous lives, including mine! Hopefully my mastering the technique of harvesting the lobsters' mandibular gland will translate into good neurosurgical skills! You are a true friend and certainly an awesome mentor. It is hard to believe that you are retiring; however, your teachings both in and out of the classroom will not be forgotten. All the best in your next career!?

Dr. Couch,

I can with all certainty say that you were instrumental in making my TCU experience very wonderful and memorable. Though I did have numerous professors who were outstanding, you stand out in my mind as the most caring and nurturing not only in the academic performance of the students but their overall well being. Your physiology course was one of my favorites and will never forget you having to pith all the frogs because none of us were willing. You are truly a model educator and mentor!!! It is a shame that future Horned Frogs will not be able to know you. Enjoy your well deserved retirement, and best wishes for your future endeavors!
